Beautifying His bride
I am coming to know more deeply that with great knowledge comes a great call to be a man of the Spirit, a man of character. With greater grasp and passion for Biblical truth and the depths of the knowledge of the Lord, I will be further held accountable by God for a greater love for Him and His people and the world. The reason is because one who is theologically inclined and doctrinally wired can...

Conjunctions are important.
Call Him Sovereign Lord, God Almighty, who alone is worthy of all glory and honor, and call Him Abba Father, dearest Daddy, who calls me His beloved child! Never replace the and with an or. They are not mutually exclusive. And don’t overlook the first statement just because there is a natural emphasis in the latter due to grammatical structure.

Jesus Chooses and Uses Failures
“ “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved. Sitting on the beach after breakfast, Jesus had just asked him for the third time if he loved him. Peter had already wholeheartedly answered yes twice. What else was he supposed to say? With these questions, the Lord was putting his finger on a very tender wound in Peter’s heart. Peter’s failure on the night of Jesus’ trial had...

It is good to tremble
2 All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the LORD. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word. Isaiah 66:2 26 I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion people are to tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for he is the living God,enduring forever; his kingdom shall never be...

Salvation for dead men
38 Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. 39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.” 40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” 41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus...

Kevin DeYoung took the words right out of my mouth. I love that new viral video “Jesus hates Religion” because the infrastructure of its poetic verses is the amazing grace of God. It is a glorious reminder to myself, as I remember that those who do not abide by the law are cursed but that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us when he hung on that tree....

Magnificent, awe-striking beauty of Christ
“  In a sermon titled “The Excellency of Christ” [Jonathan] Edwards took as his text Revelation 5:5-6 where Christ is compared both to a lion and a lamb. His point was that the unique glory of Christ was that such diverse excellencies (lion and lamb) unite in him. These excellencies are so diverse that they “would have seemed to us utterly incompatible in the same...

Truth hurts
I find it hard to grasp that a Christian—one who loves Jesus above all else and bears His name for the sake of the glory of God—should look into the eyes of his nonbelieving friend and not be filled with immense sorrow. This is right. Truth hurts. But one day, when I see Him face to Face, I will remember that every tear and heartache was worth it. 18 For many, of whom I have often...

Defend His glory; correct with love
Under the umbrella of my dearest and greatest love, the Savior Christ Himself, there is one thing I love more than anything: the accurate, Biblical teaching and preaching of His gospel through the foundation of Scripture alone that points all things to the indisputable glory of God. And under that same umbrella, there is one thing I hate more than anything: emerging claims of truth wrapped in the...

A woman of God

A poem
I wrote this poem back in March of this year. I don’t think it’s supposed to be particularly good. I say that because I don’t know anything about how to write a good poem, and this is probably the first poem I’ve ever written. Seriously. I’m an engineering student. But I like words and I like putting them together to remind myself of the richness of the glory of...

“What you are is God’s gift to you; what you become is your gift to God.” This is a popular quote. It’s an inspirational, motivational, feel-good, fist-pump invoking, triumphant quote that stirs up morale of the human heart to do wildly successful things in this world—whether it be in small-scale things in the present time, such as performing well on a college exam or in the grand scope of the...

Purity
I would rather marry a once prostitute who was found by Jesus and is in love with Him than marry a pure and spotless virgin who is merely a good church-goer. It is the blood of Christ that makes us pure, not our deeds or accomplishments.

Glory and tenderness
The majestic glory of God, in whom all things live and move, to whom all praise is due, for whom all things were created. The sweet tenderness of the Father, in whom all tears are redeemed, to whom all affections and adorations are directed, for whom there is our salvation that we might be held in His embrace that He would look glorious. We need both. He is both.

This might be redundant
It might be a repost of my last one. But I can’t put to words the awe in knowing that I am a son of the living God. I was an orphan in my sin with the sure future of death and He adopted me. It costs about $20,000-30,000 to adopt a newborn baby and approximately $3,000-4,000 to adopt a Foster child in the United States of America. It cost God the blood of His sinless, spotless, glorious...

An amalgam of words
When you are reminded how Jesus Christ on His throne in heaven is crazy about you, nothing else in life really matters anymore. God delights in me for who I am and the way I am. True? True. Perfectly true. But God, if You delight in me for who I am and the way I am, it’s only because You made me that way. You must have made me a certain way so that You could delight in me. No. He...

My heart’s every burden and anguish is more than worth it when I get to see people supremely satisfied in the fullness of God’s glory. God doesn't need us
It’s true. Let that not lead you to feeling insulted but let it amaze you at just how great He could possibly be if He really were to not need us. “Great is Your faithfulness.” That truth strikes home for us when we see with the eyes on our faces and the eyes of our hearts just how great indeed is His faithfulness. Greatest Romance
The greatest romance is not when a man travels thousands of miles for hundreds of hours through triumph and turmoil to pursue a woman whom he calls his beloved, as per Hollywood. Hope
If there even were one bad thing about being saved by God’s grace, it would be this: the anguish placed on your heart for those who are in desperate need of Jesus. Dear, precious friend: I do not hope that Jesus becomes a big...

I wrestled with this very much—if I should create a tumblr or not. But if I write a thousand posts with millions of words and just one person can be reminded of the glory of God in Christ Jesus, no word would have been written in vain.
